The Old, Old Maywood

Michael bought Maywood in April 2008.  When he bought the house it was in desperate need of some updating.  The original plan was to do a pretty minor remodel on the home and then list if for sale.  The home was 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and was not insulated or suitable for year-round living.  However, the home is on a beautiful lot and has fantastic landscaping.  Things that were done to the house included:
-putting on new siding and painting the siding
-adding shakes to the exterior peeks
-reorganized the kitchen layout
-changed the staircase to the second floor of the house
-painted all of the interior walls, ceilings, and cabinets
-updated both bathrooms with new showers, tubs, vanities, and paint

The hope was that someone would buy the house and either keep it as a cottage, or tear it down to rebuild a year-round home.  Unfortunately the cottage market really took a hit in the Okoboji area.  Fortunately, the condo was completed and we had an offer too good to refuse.  So, we began packing and began our life in the cottage.  But, before we get to that, here are some pictures of the old, old, Maywood from when Michael first bought it and before any remodeling began.
